Mouth-Watering Monday is a new weekly meme started by Brittany at Nice Girls Read Books. As book bloggers, we love to admire pretty covers, old and new. This meme takes the guilt out of judging a book by its cover, instead embracing it and showing off our favourite finds of the week!
You can show off one or more of your most mouth-watering covers!
The Abused Werewolf Rescue Group by Catherine Jinks
My Soul To Steal by Rachel Vincent
I really like the dark tones used on The Abused Werewolf Rescue Group, the shadowed face with the full moon behind is really cool. It’s also by an Australian author, too. I have the book on my shelf, waiting for me to read it. The red text across the front is brighter and embossed, making it stand out even more than it already does. It matches well with the first book, The Reformed Vampire Support Group. The Soul Screamers book is the fourth in the series. It’s being re-released in these new white covers in the UK. I’ve got the US copies myself, because I love the bright covers and swirling text of each of them. But I am starting to appreciate these new ones. This cover especially. I actually wish I’d bought this one now. The white mist fits perfectly with the blue wings of the butterfly. Grr, why do books need multiple covers.
My Soul To Steal has SUCH a pretty cover! Not heard of the series before though… I’m such a noOb…
Love the contrast of the the covers – dark and light, soft and harsh.
Books get different covers in different countries because they have different marketing departments and readerships. It’s all up to the individual publishers. They put on the cover whatever they think will sell the book in their area. 🙂
