Stacking The Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

I started buying the Morganville series a few years ago when those 2-book bind ups were being released. It’s such a long series, that I figured it would be the best way to buy them. They released up to book 8, but fast-forward three years and the rest look like they’ll never be made to match. Spotting these four on eBay for $20, I gave in and snapped hold of them. Now I’m just left looking for books 9, 10 and 11. Perhaps at the big, upcoming Lifeline sale if I go along.

The other three I bought were (The Fallen books and Fractured) only to fill up holes in the series I’ve started collecting, but haven’t actually started reading. I seem to be doing a lot of that lately. I’m only hoping that I’ll actually enjoy them, perhaps when I reach retirement age and find the time to catch up on my endless tbr list 😉 For now, they’re going on the shelf to collect dust for me.

I also got to the library this week. I love going there, but have to keep forcing restraint on myself. The month goes by so quickly and I’m still sitting here with books due back because I’ve either gone and bought something, or a book I’d pre-ordered has arrived and the library ones get forgotten as I dive into something else. Joey’s helping me with that at the moment. He’s reading Dangerous Girls while I plow through the 700 or more pages of City of Heavenly Fire. (It turned up after I’d taken this week’s photos and couldn’t be bothered re-staging our little photoshoot for one extra book).

Missed these posts? Here’s what we’ve been reading:
Brody, Jessica Unremembered – Thanks for getting me onto this, Kelly. Loved it.
Carter, Ally Perfect Scoundrels – Joey took another stab at the series, getting himself up-to-date.
Perkins, Stephanie Anna and the French Kiss – WHY DID I NOT READ THIS SOONER?

So, what books have you gotten lately? Which books would you recommend I read first? Let me know in the comments.

I went shopping last Friday and probably spent too much. I went through the YA aisle and stacked my arms full of books and went in search of the price scanner. I decided to be good, and put four back…but I’ll probably go back and get them later, anyway. I keep buying more volumes of the Nana manga, yet I still haven’t finished V1, still, I’ll probably buy more next time I go shopping again. I loved the anime, so I can’t wait to read these. The Blood and Shadow book sounds really cool, so I’m hoping to be able to slot it in sometime soon. I haven’t read any of Robin’s other books yet, but I will check those out too eventually. Basically everything I got this week was an impulse buy, the only book I was actually looking for was the Stefan’s Diaries one, but that’s the way it goes, isn’t it. Shopping in person is so much more fun than browsing online.

Here are my latest reviews if you want to check them out:
Armentrout, Jennifer L. Lux #1, Obsidian
Logsted, Gred, The Stuttering Tattoo
Malthea, Vlad The Paler
York, Kelley, Hushed

I’ve been trying to find the Shifters series for a while now. I read them all a few months ago and was suprised by how much I came to love them. They’re almost impossible to find in store, and I’ve been looking. Finally, I found them insanely cheap second hand though, so now my collection is complete! I read the bound manuscript of All These Things I’ve Done two weeks ago and really got into it, so when I saw it in store, I decided to get myself a finished copy too. I love the covers for the Lisa Mantchev books, I still haven’t started them though. The bottom row are the guy covers. There’s a bit of an angel thing going on there. The guy on the front of Awakened looks disproportioned somehow, I really wish they would have changed the cover. I read the first chapter though and liked what I found. I wasn’t really planning on getting the Fallen books, but they were omnibuses and relatively cheap, plus Paul Wesley starred in the miniseries based on them so I thought why not.

Here are my reviews from the past two weeks:
Hilburn, Lynda Kismet Knight #1, The Vampire Shrink
Stiefvater, Maggie Books Of Faerie #1, Lament
Stiefvater, Maggie Wolves Of Mercy Falls #1, Shiver
