I tried reading yesterday, but only got through about 80 pages of City Of Lost Souls before I got distracted and let procrastination take over the rest of my Saturday. I’m going to try and get back to it today, though. Just watching the PopAsia music video show at the moment, then time for reading. I’m really liking the cover for Shadow Bound, plus it’s a Rachel Vincent book, which is another big turn on–love her stuff. I’m hoping I can find time to read John Green’s book before it’s due back at the library, because I really loved The Fault In Our Stars. I haven’t read my copy of Torn yet, but I saw a heap of copies of Ascend on the end of a rack at the shops this week and grabbed myself one. I also got a tub of gummi bears as well, but that’s beside the point. Anyway, time to get back to my Sunday kpop. What did you get this week?

The Fallen: End of Days by Thomas E. Sniegoski (purchased)

I went shopping last Friday and probably spent too much. I went through the YA aisle and stacked my arms full of books and went in search of the price scanner. I decided to be good, and put four back…but I’ll probably go back and get them later, anyway. I keep buying more volumes of the Nana manga, yet I still haven’t finished V1, still, I’ll probably buy more next time I go shopping again. I loved the anime, so I can’t wait to read these. The Blood and Shadow book sounds really cool, so I’m hoping to be able to slot it in sometime soon. I haven’t read any of Robin’s other books yet, but I will check those out too eventually. Basically everything I got this week was an impulse buy, the only book I was actually looking for was the Stefan’s Diaries one, but that’s the way it goes, isn’t it. Shopping in person is so much more fun than browsing online.

Soul Screamers: Vol 1 by Rachel Vincent (purchased)
Reckoning by Lili St. Crow (purchased)
Under The Never Sky by Veronica Rossi (purchased)
Unleashed by Nancy Holder & Debbie Viguie (purchased)
The Return: Nightfall by L.J. Smith (library)
The Return: Shadow Souls by L.J. Smith (purchased)
The Return: Midnight by L.J. Smith (purchased)
Stefan’s Diaries: The Ripper by Kevin Williamson & Julie Plec (purchased)

Lots of The Vampire Diaries this week. I read books two to four of the original series after getting a random craving and ended up getting sucked back in. I had to get more so that’s how I ended up with the next three L.J. Smith books and the fourth book in the Stefan spinoff. I double dipped and bought the Soul Screamers omnibus because I wanted the My Soul To Lose prequel in print. I’m guessing that’s their selling strategy. I still haven’t started the Strange Angels series but at least I have them all now for whenever I get around to it. I wasn’t intending on purchasing this cover for Under The Never Sky, I was going to get the pink and white one, but when I saw it instore early here in Australia I couldn’t wait. Finally, Unleashed was one I ordered a couple weeks ago. I haven’t read a lot of werewolf books, I’m more into vampires myself, but the cover intrigued me. It reminds me a bit of Fallen.

Here are my latest reviews if you want to check them out:
Barnes, Jennifer Lynn, Every Other Day
Smith, L.J. The Vampire Diaries #2, The Struggle
Smith, L.J. The Vampire Diaries #3, The Fury
Smith, L.J. The Vampire Diaries #4, Dark Reunion

Title: The Craving (Stefan’s Diaries #3)
Author: Kevin Williamson & Julie Plec
Published: May, 2011 by HarperTeen
Pages: 234
Rating: ★★★☆☆
Purchase: The Book Depository

Blood brothers . . .

After his brother, Damon Salvatore, betrays him in New Orleans, Stefan starts over in Manhattan. Vowing never to harm another human, he roams the streets, trying to disappear into the city’s chaos. But just when he thinks he’s left his past behind, Stefan discovers that he can never escape his brother. Damon has grand plans for the vampire Salvatore brothers—whether Stefan likes it or not. Together, they take New York by storm. When their exploits end up on the society pages, an old enemy resurfaces—one hell-bent on revenge.

Final Thoughts:
Compared to the first two books, it’s a little lacking in the plot department. Stefan and Damon are at each other’s throats, literally. There is more of the same you’ve come to expect from those two. Fans of the TV series will enjoy this. As Lexi remarks of Stefan, “I can tell you’re going to be quite the brooder.”

Stefan’s Diaries Vol III: The Craving by Kevin Williamson & Julie Plec (purchased)
Defiance by Lili St. Crow (purchased)
Agent 21 by Chris Ryan (purchased)
Forsaken by Jana Oliver (purchased)
Mercy by Rebecca Lim (purchased)
Exile by Rebecca Lim (purchased)
The Morganville Vampires Vol II: Midnight Alley & Feast Of Fools by Rachel Caine (purchased)

So these are the books I’ve bought in my first week of blogging. I finally received my copy of the second Morganville bind-up, so I’m going to be reading that soon. Firstly, I have to finish my last two library books (Shift and Alpha by Rachel Vincent) as they’re due back very soon. I really love the colours and design on the covers of Mercy and Exile by Australian author Rebecca Lim, they looked so good in store that I had to get them both straight away, hopefully the story stacks up.
