Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick (thanks to Publishers)
After Obsession by Carrie Jones & Steven E. Wedel (thanks to Publishers)
If I Die by Rachel Vincent (purchased)
Being Human by Patricia Lynne (thanks to Author)
Nightshade by Andrea Cremer (purchased)
Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer (purchased)
Angel Fire by L.A. Weatherly (purchased)
Shift by Jeri Smith-Ready (purchased)

Thanks to Simon and Schuster for Silence, I’m about to start that one today. I’m hoping to get into it tonight after Terra Nova and Ringer. A lot of my internet purchases arrived this week. Angel Fire is huge, I didn’t realise it was over 700 pages. It’s offputting, so I’ll be saving that one for when I’ve got plenty of time to spend a day on it. I’m not too fond of the UK Shift cover but I won a UK copy of Shade so I thought I’d stick to them so they’d match. I added Being Human on goodreads a while ago and Patricia emailed me to let me know I’d won her TBR giveaway, so that was a nice suprise. And finally, I’m super excited for If I Die, can’t wait to start this one.

Dead Kiss by Daniel Waters (purchased)
Daughter Of Smoke And Bone by Laini Taylor (purchased)
Emblaze by Jessica Shirvington (purchased)
Department 19 by Will Hill (purchased)
Dark Angel by Eden Maguire (purchased)
Blood Rights by Kristen Painter (purchased)

I stopped in to Kmart on Friday to see if they had Angel Arias in a few days early. No such luck. I did however end up walking out with six books I hadn’t intended on buying. I didn’t particularly like this Daughter of Smoke and Bone cover when I’d seen stock photos online, but it looks a lot better in person. The shinyness won me over. Department 19 had been discounted to $4, so I grabbed it. It’s about some type of government conspiracy involving vampires. It’s going in my some day pile. I still need to start Jessica Shirvington’s series, since Emblaze is book three. I bought it thinking it might push me into making a move on those soon.

The Riddle Of The Sands by Geoffrey Knight (purchased)
Devoted by Hilary Duff (thanks to publishers)
After Obsession by Carrie Jones & Steven E. Wedel (won – thanks K @ The Lady Critic’s Library)

It’s been two weeks since I’ve done my mailbox post. I only received one book last week so I thought I’d hold off until I had a couple more to show. I haven’t gotten a lot since then, but that’s not a bad thing. It might help get through some that I’ve got waiting. Plus it’s giving my bank balance a breather. I plan on reading Devoted at the end of this week, which I’m looking forward to. I enjoyed Elixir back at the start of the year, even though some others weren’t too thrilled with it.

I met Maggie yesterday and got eight books signed, the five paperbacks I had, and this hardcover set. She even signed the front of the box that they go in. I got a few of my giveaway wins this week. I especially can’t wait to start on Anna Dressed In Blood. I received a couple review books too. Thanks to Kensington for Unwelcome, which I just reviewed a few days ago. I’ll be reviewing Forsaken and Forbidden next week after I finish Burn Bright which I’m half way through at the moment. I’ve been waiting on Twisted for a while. I love the Intertwined series so I’ll be pushing that up in my TBR so I can get it to it soon. I bought My Name Is Memory on a whim, it looks like a clone of Fallen with matching character names and similar blurb. And lastly Blood Bound, it’s another I have to make time for. I love Rachel’s books, so I’m hoping I’ll get just as addicted to her new series.

Here are my reviews from the past week:
Griffo, Michael Archangel Academy #2, Unwelcome

All These Things I’ve Done by Gabrielle Zevin (purchased)
Perchance To Dream by Lisa Mantchev (purchased)
Stray by Rachel Vincent (purchased)
Rogue by Rachel Vincent (purchased)

Shift by Rachel Vincent (purchased)
Awakened by Ednah Walters (purchased)
The Marked Son by Shea Berkley (purchased)
The Fallen: Vol 1 by Thomas E. Sniegoski (purchased)
The Fallen: Vol 2 by Thomas E. Sniegoski (purchased)

I’ve been trying to find the Shifters series for a while now. I read them all a few months ago and was suprised by how much I came to love them. They’re almost impossible to find in store, and I’ve been looking. Finally, I found them insanely cheap second hand though, so now my collection is complete! I read the bound manuscript of All These Things I’ve Done two weeks ago and really got into it, so when I saw it in store, I decided to get myself a finished copy too. I love the covers for the Lisa Mantchev books, I still haven’t started them though. The bottom row are the guy covers. There’s a bit of an angel thing going on there. The guy on the front of Awakened looks disproportioned somehow, I really wish they would have changed the cover. I read the first chapter though and liked what I found. I wasn’t really planning on getting the Fallen books, but they were omnibuses and relatively cheap, plus Paul Wesley starred in the miniseries based on them so I thought why not.

Here are my reviews from the past two weeks:
Hilburn, Lynda Kismet Knight #1, The Vampire Shrink
Stiefvater, Maggie Books Of Faerie #1, Lament
Stiefvater, Maggie Wolves Of Mercy Falls #1, Shiver

Personal Demons by Lisa Desrochers (borrowed from Brittany)
Burn Bright by Marianne de Pierres (purchased)
Bloodspell by Amalie Howard (purchased)
Lament by Maggie Stiefvater (purchased)
Ballad by Maggie Stiefvater (purchased)
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater (purchased)
Forever by Maggie Stiefvater (purchased)
Wildefire by Karsten Knight (purchased)
Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton (purchased)
Black Swan Rising by Lee Carroll (purchased) – My review
The Watchtower by Lee Carroll (purchased)

Finally my UK copies of Shiver and Forever arrived. I also went and picked Lament and Ballad. I’m going to try and get through as many of Maggie’s books before her workshop at Brisbane Writer’s Festival in September. I can’t wait to go to that. I borrowed Personal Demons off a friend and I’ll be getting to that in September. I’ve heard some not so great things about it, so my expectations aren’t very high, but we’ll see. Bloodspell, Wildefire and Angelfire are ones I ordered from Book Depository and they arrived in only 5 days. I’ve been meaning to order them for a while so it’s good to have them on my shelf. Hopefully I get time to read them soon. I read Black Swan Rising last month when I stumbled across it at my local library. It was one I really enjoyed, so now I finally have myself a copy, plus the recently released sequel The Watchtower. Hopefully it’s just as good. There’s just too many books I want to read that I can’t pick from. If you’ve read any that you think I should put at the top of my list, let me know.

Here are my reviews from the past week:
Skovron, Jon, Misfit
Zevin, Gabrielle Birthright #1, All These Things I’ve Done

Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready (won)
Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles (won)
Darkhouse by Karina Halle (thanks to Author)
Red Fox by Karina Halle (thanks to Author)
Playing With Fire by Katie MacAlister (purchased)
Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev (purchased)
Flip by Martyn Bedford (purchased)
The Vampire Shrink by Lynda Hilburn (thanks to Publishers)
All These Things I’ve Done by Gabrielle Zevin (thanks to Publishers)

The only one I actually bought this week was Flip, which I picked up while at the Maria V. Snyder signing in Brisbane. It has an interesting cover, if you flip it upside down, it has the cover model with his eyes open on the back and the barcode is actually on the spine. I ordered Eyes Like Stars a couple weeks ago from Book Depository and Playing With Fire is one my mother brought home from the grocery store because she thought I might like it – Thanks Mum. Thanks to Nina from Death Books and Tea for Shade and Perfect Chemistry, I can’t wait to get into those two. Also thanks to Karina Halle for sending me her first two books, I’ll start Darkhouse soon. Plus, another thanks to the people at Pan Macmillan for sending me the last two books in the photo. I plan on reading All These Things I’ve Done this week. I actually prefer the Australian cover over the white one with the chocolate heart.

Here are my reviews from the past week:
