I got a lot of J.R Ward books…a lot. I found these on eBay, $30 (incl. postage) for the lot. I had been wanting to get the Aussie covers, because, well, these covers aren’t really for me, but at that price I could forgo them looking pretty on my shelves. Here’s hoping I still enjoy the vampire series. It’s been a few years since I read the first two.

There’s a distinct purple-ness to my book haul this week. I finally decided to give in and get a copy of Heartbeat, adding it to my pile of contemporaries I want to check out this year. I haven’t been able to find a copy of The Girl In The Clockwork Collar in-store, but I’m going to keep trying. I picked up the third in the series in case it disappears in the mean time. Why is it so hard to find previous Harlequin releases in Australia once the next book in a series comes out? It’s exactly why I’ve been collecting Julie Kagawa’s books with each new release even though I haven’t even started this series yet.

The rest are some bargain books I picked up on the cheap in order to finish off or fill out missing places in series I’ve been collecting. I did read Blood Feud back in 2011, but I’m not sure what happened in it anymore. I recall a family of vampires, and…caves, maybe. I’m not sure. You can see it didn’t leave a lasting impression on me. I’ve got books three and four on my shelves already, but I don’t think I’ll be getting around to them any time soon. I’m waiting on my TBD order to arrive with some other goodies I want to check out.

Here are some of my latest posts if you want to check them out:
LaFevers, Robin His Fair Assassin #1, Grave Mercy – Joey’s guest review.
Terrill, Cristin All Our Yesterdays #1, All Our Yesterdays – LOVED this!
Westerfeld, Scott Uglies #2, Pretties – Wasn’t for me.

That’s it for this time. So, what books have you gotten lately? Which of these books would you recommend I read first? Let me know in the comments.

Another of my Booktopia orders arrived. While I’m not up to reading any of these yet, it’s good to know I have them for when I do. I’m really loving the Gods and Monsters cover, so I’m glad I picked it up. I can stop feeling jealous every time I walk past it in stores.

The Vampire Diaries: Destiny Rising by L.J. Smith (purchased)
Popular by Maya Van Wagenen (thanks to Penguin, AU)
The Break-Up Artist by Philip Siegel (thanks to Harlequin Teen, AU)

It was only two weeks between book hauls this time (not a whole year again, so I think I did pretty well). I’ve been wanting to start Scott Westerfeld’s Uglies series for quite a while now, so I gave in and ordered these with the cool black/fluorescent covers. I still need to order my copy of Extras, but I’m saving that for another one down the track. I snatched up this copy of The Vampire Diaries for less than $2 on Booktopia this week, which I’m really happy with. I needed it to round out that trilogy of the seemingly never-ending series. I’ll have to start collecting the next lot with the blue covers soon. I’ve only read the first four that L.J. Smith actually wrote, though. I’m not sure when the ghostwriters took over, but it hasn’t stopped me collecting the books. Maybe I’ll read them one day when the TV show ends and I want another fix.

Popular has been sitting around my room for a couple weeks now. It was a free gift from Felicity at the Penguin Teen Australia blogger/reader meetup in Brisbane on the 7th of April. It doesn’t particularly look like my kind of book, but it’s pretty thin so I might give it a go sometime in between the other bigger books I’ve got scheduled at the moment. Lastly, I got a copy of The Break-Up Artist to review. I’m really looking forward to this one. The blurb sounds like a lot of fun. I’ve been getting into contemporaries more and more lately, so I’m hoping this one clicks with me too.

Here are some of my latest reviews if you want to check them out:

Hodkin, Michelle Mara Dyer #1, The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer

Forgiven by Jana Oliver (purchased)
Delirium by Lauren Oliver (purchased)
Night World: Vol 1 by L.J. Smith (purchased)
Immortal City by Scott Speer (purchased)
Goddess Interrupted by Aimee Carter (thanks to Publisher)

So it’s been a bit slow around here lately. I only read one book last week–well I only completed one book–I’m midway through two others at the moment. The long weekend isn’t helping with my reading. I’m staying at a friend’s for the easter break and well, solitary reading doesn’t really fit the bill. Most of these books here are ones I picked up at Kmart last weekend. I was going to grab Pandemonium as well, but it’s in a larger format, so I’ll wait until I can get one to match the size of Delirium. I thought I’d heard good things about Night World, but it turned out, that I was thinking of another series that had been put out in bind-up form. So–oh well, maybe I’ll end up liking this one, maybe I won’t. My UK copy of Immortal City came in the mail, and I was all excited–but then I tried stacking a heap of books on the shelf above my desk at once and they ended up tumbling to the floor, the cover bending back in half–grr. Still perfectly readable–but I’m annoyed with myself. Anyway, it’s Easter today (and a certain book blogging Kate’s birthday!), so I’m going to go raid the chocolate. Have fun reading!

Conspiracy 365: August by Gabrielle Lord (library)
Conspiracy 365: September by Gabrielle Lord (library)
Touch Of Power by Maria V Snyder (won)
Article 5 by Kristen Simmons (purchased)
The Hunters: Moonsong by L.J. Smith (purchased)
Erebos by Ursula Poznanski (purchased)
Illusions by Aprilynne Pike (purchased)

Firstly, thanks to Kylie from Talking Teacup for my copy of Touch Of Power. I still haven’t read any of Maria’s books, but I will get around to it eventually. It’s been about a year since I read the first five books in the Conspiracy 365 series. They’re short, and fun, and now that it’s a tv show, I thought I’d get back to them with the next four. The other books were all random purchases I made when browsing Big W’s YA section. I probably didn’t need to get them right now since I’ve already got heaps I’m behind on, but I don’t like leaving shops empty handed. Feels like a waste of a trip. I’m still pretty busy at the moment, but I’ve almost finished helping my parents move house. Also, I probably won’t have an IMM next weekend as I’m heading down to Melbourne for a few days.

Heaven by Christoph Marzi (purchased)
A Kiss In Time by Alex Flinn (purchased)
Wings by Aprilynne Pike (purchased)
Spells by Aprilynne Pike (purchased)
New Girl by Paige Harbison (thanks to Publishers)

It’s been a busy week for me. I got a job in another city so I’m moving back and forth between two places. I apologise to those I haven’t been able to get back to. I will get back on track with the blog eventually, but it may be a little slow until I get into a new pattern. As for my books this week, I saw the new cover for The Secret Circle and decided it looked cool. I’m still watching the tv series, so I may wait until the end of season 1 before I start on the book. I have no idea what Aprilynne’s books are about other than faeries, but the first two were both instock at the same time for once, so I finally ended up getting them. The tag line on the front of Heaven was enough to intrigue me, plus I love the cover. I probably didn’t need to buy A Kiss In Time this week, but it matches my Beastly cover, so there you have it. Thanks to Harlequin Teen for New Girl, looking forward to checking it out.

It’s been three weeks since my last IMM. Christmas came, New Years came, and well, I just didn’t get around to posting. I haven’t actually gotten a lot lately if you exclude my Nana manga. Thanks to Sas from Tea Mouse Book Reviews for the 8th Vampire Diaries book. Also thanks to Harlequin Teen for sending me a copy of On A Dark Wing, I’m hoping to get to that one in the next week. The other three books I managed to pick up for about $2 each at a discount bookstore. I’ve read Entice, but I’ve been needing a copy for a while so I was happy to find it cheap. I also bought a couple eBooks too, but I’ll be moving through my NetGalley reads before I get to them.
