The Book of Blood and Shadow by Robin Wasserman (purchased)
A Witch In Winter by Ruth Warburton (purchased)
Twisted Heart by Eden Maguire (purchased)
Stefan’s Diaries: The Asylum by Kevin Williamson & Julie Plec (purchased)
The Fallen: End of Days by Thomas E. Sniegoski (purchased)
In Darkness by Nick Lake (thanks to Publishers)
Nana V7 by Ai Yazawa (purchased)
Nana V8 by Ai Yazawa (purchased)

I went shopping last Friday and probably spent too much. I went through the YA aisle and stacked my arms full of books and went in search of the price scanner. I decided to be good, and put four back…but I’ll probably go back and get them later, anyway. I keep buying more volumes of the Nana manga, yet I still haven’t finished V1, still, I’ll probably buy more next time I go shopping again. I loved the anime, so I can’t wait to read these. The Blood and Shadow book sounds really cool, so I’m hoping to be able to slot it in sometime soon. I haven’t read any of Robin’s other books yet, but I will check those out too eventually. Basically everything I got this week was an impulse buy, the only book I was actually looking for was the Stefan’s Diaries one, but that’s the way it goes, isn’t it. Shopping in person is so much more fun than browsing online.

Here are my latest reviews if you want to check them out:
Armentrout, Jennifer L. Lux #1, Obsidian
Logsted, Gred, The Stuttering Tattoo
Malthea, Vlad The Paler
York, Kelley, Hushed

Gravitation V9 by Maki Murakami (purchased)
Nana V4 by Ai Yazawa (purchased)
Nana V5 by Ai Yazawa (purchased)
Fallen In Love by Lauren Kate (purchased)

So Manga, hey? I wasn’t planning on getting any of those this week, but I stumbled into the anime store and felt the urge to spend. Plus, my friend Brittany from Nice Girls Read Books gave me the Beast Master ones as a belated Xmas present, which brought this week’s manga total up to 5. I really need to find time to read them. I’m still on V1 of Nana at the moment. I preordered Fallen In Love back at the start of January, as I thought seeing things from the other characters POV might help with this series. I actually enjoyed the small peeks we got into the side characters in Passion.

Tempest by Julie Cross (purchased) – My Review
The Fault In Our Stars by John Green (thanks to Publishers)
The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter (thanks to Publishers)

Small week, which is good as I’ve trying to put a dent in my reading pile. I read five books in the past week, which is unusual for me. I fell in love with Being Human by Patricia Lynne, spending all of Friday night on it – definitely check that one out. As for the books I got, I really enjoyed Tempest when I read the galley a couple weeks ago, so I had to order myself the hardcover. The first twenty or so pages were a little glued together along the top edge, but I managed to pry them apart without any dramas. The other two were sent to me from Penguin and Harlequin Teen, respectively – so thanks for those. I need to catch up on The Goddess Test before the sequel comes out.

Here are my latest reviews if you want to check them out:
Lewis, Jon S. C.H.A.O.S. #2, Alienation
Lynne, Patricia Being Human #1, Being Human
Meyer, Marissa The Lunar Chronicles #1, Cinder

Everneath by Brodi Ashton (thanks to Publishers)
The Unbecoming Of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin (thanks to Publishers)
Fated by Sarah Alderson (thanks to Publishers)
Hallowed by Cynthia Hand (purchased)
Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward (purchased)
Hero by Perry Moore (purchased)
Nana: Volume 2 by Ai Yazawa (purchased)

A big thanks to Simon and Schuster who sent me the top three books this week. Everneath is a Harper one in America, so I’m not sure why S&S Australia has it. Anyway, can’t wait to read all of them. For those that haven’t heard, Simon and Schuster are running a comp giving Aussie bloggers the chance to win a $250 voucher for either Dymocks, Westfield or JB HiFi. All you need to do is read Everneath, film a video review and post it to your blog and then head over to www.everneath.com.au and fill out the form before 24th February 2012. Under 18’s need parental permission.

Okay, back to my mailbox… I went shopping during the week and kind of spent more than I’d hoped. Hallowed and Lover Awakened were both $20 each, more than I’d like to pay for a paperback, but self-restraint went out the window and I hurried to the counter and bought them. I’m hoping to read Hero either this week or next, but who knows if that will happen, we’ll see. Lastly, I stopped in at the local anime store and picked up another volume of the Nana manga. I got a heap of them last week during an online stocktake sale, but I needed this one so I could move on to volume three. If you haven’t noticed the Tempest pic at the top of my sidebar, I’m hosting a giveaway for Macmillan Audio for the Tempest Audiobook. It ends next Thursday 19th January. Click on the pic to check it out. There’s a free audio sample on the page, too.

(Sorry to those I missed getting back to last week, I was feeling sick Sunday/Monday.)

It’s been three weeks since my last IMM. Christmas came, New Years came, and well, I just didn’t get around to posting. I haven’t actually gotten a lot lately if you exclude my Nana manga. Thanks to Sas from Tea Mouse Book Reviews for the 8th Vampire Diaries book. Also thanks to Harlequin Teen for sending me a copy of On A Dark Wing, I’m hoping to get to that one in the next week. The other three books I managed to pick up for about $2 each at a discount bookstore. I’ve read Entice, but I’ve been needing a copy for a while so I was happy to find it cheap. I also bought a couple eBooks too, but I’ll be moving through my NetGalley reads before I get to them.

The Future Of Us by Jay Asher & Carolyn Mackler (thanks to Publishers)
Switched by Amanda Hocking (thanks to Publishers)
Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare (purchased) – My Review
Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout (purchased)
Hushed by Kelley York (purchased)

I haven’t heard much about The Future of Us, but the blurb sounds interesting, so I’ll check it out eventually. I actually prefer the new red cover of Switched, but the Australian one doesn’t look too bad either, and I’m looking forward to starting the series. I just read Clockwork Prince a few days ago. I’d been waiting a while for it, so I was excited when my preorder turned up last Monday. There are links to my review in this post. The last two are both Entangled releases. I’ve been enjoying their other books this year, so I had to get these as well. There have been heaps of excellent reviews for both, so I can’t wait to start them.

Clare, Cassandra The Infernal Devices #2, Clockwork Prince

Tantalize by Cynthia Leitich Smith (library)
Eternal by Cynthia Leitich Smith (library)
Blessed by Cynthia Leitich Smith (library)
Solitary by Alexander Gordon Smith (library)
Death Sentence by Alexander Gordon Smith (library)
The Slayer Chronicles: First Kill by Heather Brewer (purchased)
Witch Eyes by Scott Tracey (purchased)
Carrier Of The Mark by Leigh Fallon (purchased)
Torchwood: Miracle Day (purchased)

Sorry for the blurry pic. I had to resort to iPod photography while my camera was on holiday. I turned 22 last week. My parents got me a kindle, which I was especially excited about as I finally have an ereader. I also grabbed that copy of the new series of Torchwood during a 20% off sale which happened to be going on, on my birthday – so can’t wait to get back to Captain Jack. Okay, onto the books… I stopped by the city library and picked up the first three in the Tantalize series. I’m not expecting a lot from them, but I thought give them a shot. I also read the first in the Escape From Furnace series last Monday and picked up the following two. It was kind of like Prison Break for teens, and kind of violent… so obviously I want to read more of it. With the purchased books, I’ve only read the first in the Vladimir Tod series, so I probably won’t get around to this spin-off series for a while… that didn’t stop me buying it though. Witch Eyes and Carrier Of The Mark are ones I’ve been wanting to check out in the near future, so if I can make it through my increasing library pile with any kind of haste, I’ll slot time in for them.
